We’re Having a Baby

I recently got married to the woman that I truly believe is my soul mate. Before we decided to tie the knot, we discussed whether or not we wanted kids. We both agreed that we wanted kids, but now was not the time. We both have careers, and we are both still advancing in them. So my wife has been using birth control pills which they say are almost 100% effective.

That’s “almost” 100% effective. Apparently the little swimmers are more powerful than her pills! That’s right, she is 100% pregnant. And there would never be any discussion with us about keeping it or not because we choose life.

While it will disrupt her job big time, it won’t sock us financially all that bad. Not only is her dad a Ft. Lauderdale health insurance agent (we totally know the importance of that coverage), but we have Florida group health insurance through my employer. So with the FL health insurance taking care of the big expenses regarding having a baby, we can concentrate on the other things like getting things for the nursery. We have already cleared out the extra bedroom which was an office. As soon as we know if it’s a boy or a girl, I’ll be a painting fool!

Couples and Catfights

Amy came over yesterday with her gorgeous boyfriend and they were so cutesy and cuddly all night, but all the while they were mocking me.  I’m not even kidding.  She’s sitting there, and he whispers something in her ear and she gave this big, ostentatious giggle and goes, “I know, I would never have an outside kitchen like this.”  She is such a brat, especially because I know she wants one of these bbq islands with an outdoor sink, just like mine.  Moreover, she wants a husband like mine, not a European playboy that isn’t actually serious about her as anything more than clubbing arm candy.  She was being so awful!  It’s bad enough that she has to flaunt her ridiculously overpriced lifestyle in my face, but that she makes fun of me on top of it?  It’s not only mean, it’s unacceptable.  She went around the whole kitchen with this little sigh and went “Oh, it’s so quaint, isn’t it, Klaus?”  He laughed.  At dinner, she barely ate my chicken and then said, “Well, dry chicken is still delicious but not a personal favorite.”  Hold your breath, Amy.  Let’s see if you get asked back here anytime soon.

State Specific SEO Content

Is Florida website marketing better than plain old, general website marketing?  Well, it is if you are in Florida or looking for consumers based out of Florida.  While the World Wide Web has opened up a door to global commerce, independent of actual physical location, it is also still a way for small, local businesses to appeal to a state, or even just a city.

The Internet it not just a way to influence consumers or the world, it is a way to influence the citizens of your city in a way that you otherwise may not have been able to.  Tampa internet marketing is an example of a way to aim your website and your services or goods toward the citizens of Tampa, which is one of the largest cities in the state of Florida.  This type of marketing approach can be done in cities all over the world.  The key to state specific SEO content is to utilize individuals who are familiar with the targeted area and who can help produce real results when it comes to, to continue the previous example, Tampa web marketing

Make sure, if you decide to align your website and your marketing approach with a particular city or region, that you use a practical and knowledgeable company or individual to help you with your SEO content.  This is, of course, assuming you are unable to perform the work yourself - after all, you are running a business and should focus on that!

Plans for Our Second Anniversary

My husband’s and my second anniversary is in the spring, so it’s getting to be time to start making plans for how we want to celebrate.

We always planned to take a trip on our first anniversary.  We honeymooned in the northeastern United States, so we originally planned to go back to that area for our first anniversary, perhaps to a New England inn or a Rhode Island bed and breakfast.  Unfortunately, that never happened — we were too busy at the time and we didn’t really have the money to spare for the trip, so we decided not to go after all.

It was disappointing, though, to cancel a trip we’d assumed all year that we’d take, so I think this year we ought to plan on trying again.  Right now money is rather tight, but maybe — if we save our pennies and I work a lot through the winter — we’ll be able to afford the trip come spring.  (I’m a freelance writer, so my income is directly related to how much I choose to work.)

Both my husband and I are really interested in history (though him a little more than me), so I think it would be a lot of fun to stay at a Massachusetts bed and breakfast.  During the day we could see some of the historical sights in Boston, and at night we’d have a cozy place to retire to — and a yummy breakfast to look forward to!

Sounds to me like a great way to celebrate our second anniversary — and I’m sure my husband will agree!

Successful Fundraiser Ideas

Schools, sporting groups, religious organizations and nonprofit groups are always looking for ways to raise money to operate and accomplish its missions. While donations from participants are solicited and participant fees help offset the cost of operations, fundraisers have an important function for these groups. Members of these groups plan fundraisers multiple times throughout a year to help raise much needed revenue. Fundraisers often become a family affair as parents and children work together to meet the sales goals set by the organization. By canvassing neighbors and hitting up co-workers, participating in fundraisers is important for all non-profit organizations.

A popular fundraiser items is selling candles.  Gone are the days of selling chocolate bars as organizations focus on raising funds by selling non-perishable goods.  Scented jar candles come in a variety of scents so customers can find their favorite scent. Even people not specifically shopping for candles cannot resist a candle for a good cause.

Organizations look to sell common and popular items and who can resist purchasing richly scented candles.  Taking a percentage of sales is a great way to finance activities and operations for groups. Customers are encouraged to buy as much as possible to help the mission of their non-profit organization.
