Efficiency and ‘Going Green’ in Business

Businesses are beginning to see the importance of being more efficient and "going green." With fuel prices the way they are these days, it’s impossible to ignore the need for efficiency and sustainable business practices any longer. Here are a couple of ways that businesses are tackling this problem.
- Making schedule changes to reduce commuting. Fuel prices have gotten so expensive that companies are beginning to realize they need to help reduce their employees’ commutes, or risk losing them to employers closer to their homes. Many companies are doing this by offering telecommuting options and condensed workweeks.
- Upgrading equipment for greater efficiency. It’s becoming more worthwhile to spend the money to upgrade expensive equipment, as it often means saving money in other places. For instance, a California energy company recently replaced all their flow meters with a model of liquid flow calibrator made by Sierra Instruments. The effiency of modern flow meters, such as this ultrasonic water flowmeter, saves a company money in the long run.
Going green and striving toward greater efficiency isn’t just for individuals anymore!
