Plans for Our Second Anniversary

My husband’s and my second anniversary is in the spring, so it’s getting to be time to start making plans for how we want to celebrate.

We always planned to take a trip on our first anniversary.  We honeymooned in the northeastern United States, so we originally planned to go back to that area for our first anniversary, perhaps to a New England inn or a Rhode Island bed and breakfast.  Unfortunately, that never happened — we were too busy at the time and we didn’t really have the money to spare for the trip, so we decided not to go after all.

It was disappointing, though, to cancel a trip we’d assumed all year that we’d take, so I think this year we ought to plan on trying again.  Right now money is rather tight, but maybe — if we save our pennies and I work a lot through the winter — we’ll be able to afford the trip come spring.  (I’m a freelance writer, so my income is directly related to how much I choose to work.)

Both my husband and I are really interested in history (though him a little more than me), so I think it would be a lot of fun to stay at a Massachusetts bed and breakfast.  During the day we could see some of the historical sights in Boston, and at night we’d have a cozy place to retire to — and a yummy breakfast to look forward to!

Sounds to me like a great way to celebrate our second anniversary — and I’m sure my husband will agree!
